Director of Social Media and Business Development
Born and raised in the Bay Area, I have been competing in sports my entire life. From an early age, my father taught me about the parallels of life and sport. Concepts like leadership, hustle, self-control, work ethic, and mental toughness struck a chord and have become a part of my fabric. I truly believe sports have played a critical role in shaping me into the person I am today.
I was a three sport athlete in high school and went on to play soccer in college. After graduation, I was left feeling like a part of my life was missing without that daily stimulus of training or competing. I tried to find it by playing in the adult rec leagues for both softball and soccer for roughly six years, but the lack of daily training and less competitive nature of these leagues had me yearning for more. After the birth of my son in 2009, my wife, who also has a strong sports background, found CrossFit through a co-worker as a way to get back in shape. Intrigued by her “box stories,” I went with her to a few classes and was quickly humbled by the intensity of the WODs. I had found that missing stimulus, and a couple of months later, I was hooked. Having two kids, a wife, and a full-time job puts limits on my free time, but being able to WOD next to my wife and know that we are both healthy, physically and emotionally fit, and setting an example for our children is definitely worth it.
At Tabata Times, my role in business development and as social media director allows me to combine my passion for sports and fitness with my desire to connect with people. I get to meet and learn from like-minded, amazing people while engaging with a large and continually growing community who share a common overall goal of health.
