20130519 The day of REST! Where has all the time gone. It's only a short week away before Memorial Day! Don't forget that Memorial Day Murph is on Memorial Day and the time has changed to 10am with a BBQ potluck to follow. Please let us know what you are bringing and be sure to invite any of your family and friends that may want to come cheer us all on and/ or just eat the heck out of some good food! As we start a new week I want everyone to focus on the following: -If you arrive early take a few minutes to work on something basic. 5 minutes doing PVC snatch balances or OHS will go a long way to improving your form, lifting more weight, and achieving your goals -Stop concerning yourself with what weight everyone else is doing and use the weight recommended by your coach. As I've said before every WOD is designed with a specific purpose in mind. If the purpose is intensity and the weight YOU decide to use is too heavy then YOUR WOD will not be intense as designed because you will be dropping the bar every couple reps. -If your form faults in any way take it upon yourself to lower the weight. You don't have to wait for your coach to remind you. My primary concern on ALL lifts is that your form is as close to perfect as possible. If you train with poor form your progress will be slow and your chances of getting injured will be very hi! -If you are capable of doing things at full range of motion you should hold yourself to that. If you are not breaking parallel on your squats, WBS, etc because you are too worried about time, STOP. You will get more out of doing things right and efficiently than racing the clock. -If you are not able to do things full range of motion, with proper form, or do to other limitations please use the alternate exercises to improve your abilities in a safe healthy way and not push threw because you let your ego get to you. We want you to improve not get hurt and be unable to come in. All this being said, you ALL are kicking serious butt! We have had so many PR's this month I have lost track. I urge you to look up on the board and see where you are. And when you see red marked numbers that is someones score that beat one of the coaches!! Strive to put your red marked number up there. Nothing is impossible. :-) -Coach C
